IRS PTIN Application System to Go Down for Maintenance

The IRS announced on a website that it will not be usurpation new applications for preparer taxation marker numbers (PTINs) from 5 p.m. EST Friday, Dec 23, until approximately 6 a.m. EST on Monday, Jan 9. The IRS PTIN complement will be accessible for renewals during that time.

The IRS says a PTIN focus complement is being taken down for “previously scheduled maintenance.”
