Canadian transportation firm TransForce Inc. said its first-quarter profit improved, boosted by acquisitions.

Net income rose to C$30.2 million, or 31 cents per share, from C$14.9 million, or 15 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue jumped 40% to C$788.2 million, the Montreal-based trucking and logistics company said.

Revenue was boosted by last year’s acquisitions and the purchase of Quik X in January.

TransForce Inc. is ranked No. 10 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
