UPS Inc. on Wednesday said it has acquired Kiala, a European company that provides delivery options to consumers purchasing goods over the Internet. Terms were not disclosed.

Kiala, which currently operates in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Spain, has developed a platform that enables e-commerce retailers to offer their shoppers the option of having goods delivered to a convenient retail location, UPS said in a statement.

UPS is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
