Durables Orders Increase in November

Durable goods orders climed 2.6% in November after a decrease the month before, the Commerce Department said Thursday.

Excluding transportation, orders grew 2.4%.

Orders for non-military goods excluding aircraft orders gained 1%, Commerce said.

Orders for durable goods excluding transportation were projected by analysts to rise 1.8%, Bloomberg reported.

Durable goods include large items such as refrigerators and air conditioners. Trucking is a major beneficiary of durable goods manufacturing, hauling both components and finished goods.
