Investor Carl Icahn told CNBC that a potential merger between Navistar International Corp. and Oshkosh Corp. would â€œbe a good mergerâ€� that would â€œcreate a lot of synergies.â€�
He told CNBC he â€œwould be supportiveâ€� of a merger, and â€œI think the shareholders of both companies would benefit.â€�
Icahn bought a 9.8% stake in Navistar in October and holds a similar stake in Oshkosh, which makes specialty vehicles including for the military and emergency services.
